CII's Young Indians (Yi) Amaravati Chapter culminated its impactful series of 18 awareness sessions on mental health and substance abuse with a final session at KL University.

The initiative, designed to address the growing concerns of mental health challenges and addiction among youth, engaged thousands of school and college students across the region, fostering meaningful conversations on well-being.

The closing session at KL University was attended by Sri Hari Krishna, chapter chair, Yi Amaravati,Balakrishna Chittineni, co-chair, Harshita Talasila, student government president, Colgate University and Meena Medikonda, Latha Super Specialty Hospital.

Harshitha led the awareness sessions as part of her “Project for Peace” initiative, emphasizing the importance of emotional intelligence, the adverse effects of substance abuse, and strategies to cope with the pressures of modern life.

Throughout the series, Yi Amaravati Chapter contributed 7800 books on mental health equipping students with vital resources to prioritise their wellbeing. Dr. Meena provided professional insights and facilitated one-on-one counselling to over 750 students, offering personalised guidance to address their concerns.

The initiative Yi Amaravati’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for young individuals. The series of sessions empowered students with the knowledge and tools to navigate mental health challenges and build resilience in today’s fast-paced world.
